Dylan Guenther leads class of Albertans on NHL Central Scouting List

Edmonton Oil Kings Centre Dylan Guenther is the highest ranked player from the Western Hockey League on the NHL's Central Scouting List of final draft rankings. The Edmonton product is ranked fifth overall and leads a list of 22 Alberta players on the list.

Guenther, who is listed at 6' 2" and 175 pounds, had 12 goals and 12 assists in just 24 games this past season. He was the first overall pick in the 2018 WHL Draft and has been more than a point a game player in the WHL (87 points in 78 games).  

Guenther grew up playing in Whitemud West before moving on to KC Hockey and Northern Alberta Xtreme. 

The NHL Draft's first round will be July 23, with the balance of the rounds staged the following day.
