Takis Shootout Winners Crowned!

The champions have been crowned in our Takis Shootout Challenge this season! We had a ton of entries in the contest powered by Takis, the hot new chip brand in Canada. Players on teams from U15 to U21 had fun taking part in shootouts at practices with the chance to win some money for their clubs or a team outing to a Golden Bears or Pandas game.

While everyone on the teams got to try different types of the sassy new chip, the winner got a cool prize pack, including a Takis knapsack, toque, puck, skate laces and hockey tape. Team's posts of photos and videos to social media channels earned them entries into the draws, which took place today. 

Hockey Edmonton's Director of Elite Hockey, Tracey Orbell, made the draw in front of two witnesses. Both the Canadian Athletic Club Think Green U15 AA team and the Southwest Zone 601 Oil Kings U15 won team outings to a game at the University of Alberta. The winner of the grand prize, a cool $500 cash, is ... drum roll please ... the U18 AAA Pandas, who posted a fun video on the Pandas Instagram channel.

We want to thank the players and coaches on these three teams - as well as all the other clubs that took part - for jumping on board with this fun challenge. We also salute Takis for bringing such a fun event to Hockey Edmonton! We have discovered how great Takis are ... plus the fact you need to have a water bottle close by to help extinguish the heat!!!
